A new old age
So, Koei Tecmo decided to spill some beans about Zelda’s companions in the upcoming Musou prequel, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment. They dropped five new profiles and a bunch of screenshots on their official website, giving us a peek into the characters we’ll meet in the game. We now know the names of the four Sages (well, their Japanese-translated names) and… wait for it… Zelda’s maid?
First off, we have Argusta, the Goron Sage and leader of the Goron Tribe. He’s known to be a close pal of Rauru, described as a kind, generous, and smart ruler. Next in line is Kia, the Zora Sage and princess who’s a pro at martial arts. She’s admired for her courage, which rallies her people. Then, we have Krafika, the Rito leader and Rito Sage, who might not be the most straightforward character, but he’s loyal and values his friendships. Lastly, we have Ardi, a member of the Gerudo tribe and a devoted follower of Ganondorf, the current kingpin.
Out of all these characters, the one we’re really itching to meet is Lanaria (or Ranaria), Zelda’s maid. Trusted by Rauru, she’s a gentle soul, quick on her feet, and deeply intrigued by the mystical. Rumor has it she’s always carrying a notebook around. While it’s not a truckload of new info, just having a glimpse into the Sages’ world is a big deal this close to the game’s launch. We got a sneak peek of Age of Imprisonment at Tokyo Game Show, and we’re pumped to see how this “canonical” prequel adds to the Tears of the Kingdom saga.
