This weekend, Netflix hosted an event called Tudum. It showed off some The Witcher season2 and confirmed that it has been renewed for a third season. Also, it briefly displayed the Icelandic setting for The Witcher: Blood Origin, a prequel series.

Things took a strange turn after that. Lauren Schmidt Hissrich (showrunner and executive producer for The Witcher) gave a presentation. She then announced two additional projects. First, the sequel to the anime movie Nightmare of the Wolf ( ), which we loved, is being announced.

Hissrich then announced that a new series aimed at children was in the making. Hissrich stated, “I can confirm that we will be making a second Witcher animation film as well as a fun-filled series for kids and families.”

Okay. The Witcher was not able to give any more details, but it is obvious that the story is graphic and grim. It is set in a world that sees genuinely terrible things happening every day. It doesn’t seem like the best fit for a kiddy show, but from another angle, you could see it as a cartoon about cool guys fighting monsters. The format of the cartoon might not be the best, but it is possible. You shouldn’t be expecting to see Tub Geralt in his full glory.
