It’s a huge year for racing games, and not just because of the new Mario Kart game. Sega is also jumping into the mix with its upcoming Sonic Racing game. The company recently dropped a video, narrated by YouTuber Sam Procrastinates, that dives into “the history of Sonic Racing”. This video takes us on a trip down memory lane, starting with the 1994 release of Sonic Drift on the Game Gear. From there, it covers other notable Sonic Racing titles like Sonic R, all the way up to the more modern entries such as Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds.
Speaking of CrossWorlds, this latest installment has already undergone a closed network test, and the initial feedback seems pretty positive. Sega is touting CrossWorlds as having the “largest” roster ever seen in a Sonic Racing game, with characters from various Sega universes making an appearance. As of now, there’s no set release date for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, and no word on whether it will be available on the rumored Switch 2. But hey, we’ll keep you posted if we hear anything new.
So, have you dabbled in any of Sonic’s racing games before? Are you intrigued by the upcoming CrossWorlds release? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
