Room service
So, this game called Hotel Dusk: Room 215 has got a huge fan base, you know? It’s like a text-based adventure game that Nintendo dropped on the DS back in 2007. Then, they did a sequel called Last Window: The Secret of Cape West three years later. But then, the developers, Cing, went bankrupt and disappeared. Sad times, man.
Anyway, the series has been pretty quiet since then, but guess what? Nintendo just filed a new trademark for Hotel Dusk’s Western title in Japan. Apparently, they already had the rights to the Japanese name, ‘Wish Room,’ but now they want to claim the Western name too. The trademark was filed on 9th May and made public in Japan on 19th May. Exciting stuff, right?
Trademark renewals are like a routine thing for big companies like Nintendo, so it doesn’t necessarily mean anything new is coming. But hey, remember when they did the same thing for Another Code in 2018, and then bam, five years later, Another Code: Recollection hit the Switch in Japan? Coincidence? Maybe, maybe not. Could we be seeing a remastered Hotel Dusk collection on the Switch soon? Who knows, man, who knows.
I mean, I’m not really sure why all this trademark stuff matters, but seeing that noir duo back in action on a new console sounds pretty cool, right? Like, I wouldn’t mind a beefed-up version of Hotel Dusk: Room 215 on the Switch. Would you? Let me know in the comments, folks.
Jim joined Nintendo Life in 2022, and he’s all about The Minish Cap and the Star Wars prequels (weird choices, right?). Despite that, he’s been writing news and features for the site since then. Cool guy, I guess.
