eShop Selects is back again, ready to provide you with some cozy autumn gaming options as we approach the end of the year. With November around the corner, it’s the perfect time to start stocking up on some new video games to keep you entertained. Our staff and contributors have voted for their top three eShop games, and we’re excited to share the results with you.
In September, our Readers’ Choice winner was Karel Matějka’s BZZZT, a game that swept the competition with its outstanding reviews on Steam and captivating visuals and gameplay. If you haven’t already, be sure to add this one to your backlog.
Looking back at October, it was a month filled with spooky games that kept us on the edge of our seats. Some honorable mentions include titles like Faith: The Unholy Trinity, Kill Knight, and Killing Time: Resurrected, all receiving high praise from our team. Additionally, Nikoderiko: The Magical World, RetroRealms: Halloween / Ash vs Evil Dead, and Slay The Princess – The Pristine Cut were also recognized for their spooky charm.
In third place, we have a tie between four deserving games that stood out in October. Fear the Spotlight, a low-fi visual horror adventure from Blumhouse, captured the essence of high school teen horror with a well-deserved 9/10 rating. Following closely behind is Crow Country, a PS1-inspired horror game that pays homage to classics like Resident Evil and Final Fantasy VII, earning an 8/10 score from us.
Topping our list for October is Neva, developed by Nomada Studio, the creators of the critically acclaimed GRIS. Neva wowed us with its stunning visuals, captivating music, and engaging combat and platforming, securing a well-earned 9/10 review from our team. If you’re looking for a game that will tug at your heartstrings, Neva is a must-play.
As we wrap up October and gear up for the holiday season, we want to hear from you. If there’s a game you believe should have made our list, be sure to vote in our poll and share your thoughts. Your feedback is valuable to us as we continue to curate top-notch eShop games for our readers.
At the end of each month, the Nintendo Life staff come together to vote on their favorite eShop titles released that month. These games must be digital-only releases on the Nintendo Switch eShop and have been reviewed by our team. By voting for their top three games, our staff helps determine the top picks for our eShop Selects feature.
With exciting releases on the horizon, we can’t wait to see what November has in store for eShop gamers. Stay tuned for more reviews, recommendations, and updates on the latest and greatest eShop games.
