Fallout 76’s Big Move to Ohio
So, Fallout 76 is packing its bags and heading to Ohio, of all places. And who’s there waiting for players in this new region? None other than the Ghoul from that popular Fallout TV show on Amazon. The devs are claiming that this new expansion is their biggest map expansion yet, set to be released later this year. And what can players expect? Well, besides the Ghoul, there’s bounty hunting, new characters, fresh mutated creatures to kill, and more.
Burning Springs Update: What’s the Deal?
On October 1, Bethesda dropped the bomb about Fallout 76’s next big update, Burning Springs. This new update is expected to hit all platforms in early December, adding a whole new region to the game’s map. And guess what? The region is named Burning Springs because, well, it’s set in Ohio. Ohio, folks! A location that hasn’t been explored much in past Fallout media, giving the devs a blank canvas to work with. And get this – Burning Springs is said to be directly inspired by Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas. Not really sure why this matters, but hey, it’s cool.
Connecting the Dots: Fallout TV Show Tie-In
But wait, there’s more! The big news with Burning Springs is that it’s going to connect directly to Amazon’s live-action Fallout TV show. As mentioned earlier, the Ghoul from the show will be an NPC in Fallout 76’s new region, located in Highway Town. This Ghoul will be handing out bounties to players and is even voiced by Walton Goggins himself. And get this – the free update is launching around the same time as season two of the show on Amazon Prime Video. Coincidence? I think not. The show and the game are syncing up perfectly.
New Location, New Adventures
The new location in Fallout 76 will be tacked onto the Western edge of the current map, similar to how Skyline Valley was added in 2024. To get to this new area, players will have to cross the Point Pleasant Bridge, leaving Appalachia behind and stepping into Ohio. Console players will have to wait until December to make the journey, while PC players can start exploring the new region as early as tomorrow, October 2, via Fallout 76’s testing server. Bethesda promises that full patch notes for the big update will drop at that time too. So get ready for a whole new adventure in the world of Fallout 76!
