Switch 2 is gonna have more power under the hood, attracting EA and Codemasters. Formula One series might be a “good fit” for the new system, but nothing official yet.
So, Codemasters is thinking about bringing its Formula One games to the Switch 2. They need some “smart people” to check out the new Nintendo system and see if it’s a match for the F1 gaming experience. No announcements yet, but they’re having chats internally:
“We’ll certainly be having those conversations internally, but there’s nothing we can talk about at this point.”
Codemasters dropped GRID Autosport on the Switch eShop in 2019, which was pretty well-received, despite missing multiplayer at launch. They eventually added it for free. The last F1 title on a Nintendo platform was F1 Race Stars Powered Up Edition during the Wii U days.
EA acquired Codemasters in 2021, snagging up games like GRID, F1, DIRT, and Project CARS. They’re bringing the next EA FC and Madden games to the Switch 2. Would you be down for some F1 and racing games on the Switch 2? Let us know.
