This year’s PAX East felt kinda small, ya know? Like, not as many big names as before, but still had some cool stuff goin’ on. Bandai Namco was showin’ off Elden Ring: Nightreign and Larian Studios had their Baldur’s Gate 3 booth up. But a lot of the big shots that usually show up at this Boston games convention were a no-show. Maybe ’cause they’re gettin’ ready for Summer Game Fest next month or maybe the video game industry is just goin’ through a rough patch. Who really knows, right? But hey, for those of us who love checkin’ out indie teams with their small games and big ideas, PAX East was like being a kid in a candy shop.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 took everyone by surprise, man. I mean, it got a lot of love, more than anyone expected. It’s like the highest-rated game of 2025 on Metacritic and might even be up for Game of the Year at the Game Awards. Crazy, right? And get this, the director of Baldur’s Gate 3 totally saw it comin’. Who woulda thought? – Kenneth Shepard

So, I just spilled Cherry Pepsi Max all over my keyboard. Not the best move, I know. And it’s not just any ol’ keyboard, it’s like the second to last one I’ll ever use. I get it, people keep tellin’ me I should switch to a mechanical keyboard with all the fancy lights and clickity-clackity sounds. But nah, I’m stickin’ with my Microsoft MultiMedia Keyboard 1.0A. And guess what? I’m down to my last one. Once this bad boy goes, that’s it for me. No more backups. – John Walker

Andor’s final season wrapped up recently, givin’ us 12 episodes of Star Wars goodness. The format was pretty interesting, droppin’ three episodes at a time, each representin’ a year leadin’ up to Rogue One. It was a cool way to structure the show, but kinda sucked that we didn’t get to enjoy it for longer. – Zack Zwiezen

Miro is like a mix of No Man’s Sky and Proteus, a chill sci-fi game where you explore planets and uncover a cool storyline. The lo-fi graphics give it a unique vibe, makin’ everything feel more natural and organic. – John Walker

So yeah, that’s the scoop on some of the games at PAX East, spillin’ Cherry Pepsi on keyboards, and sayin’ goodbye to Andor. Overall, it was a mixed bag of surprises and disappointments, but hey, that’s just how it goes in the gaming world.
