As a journalist who enjoys playing Call of Duty games, I often find myself jumping in and out of Modern Warfare III depending on the latest modes or gimmicks available. Recently, a new WWE-themed game mode called Slam Deathmatch has caught my attention and brought me back into the MW3 fray.

Season 5 of Warzone and MW3 introduced new base weapons, a battle pass featuring WWE superstar Rhea Ripley, and two other famous wrestler skins for purchase (Cody Rhodes and Rey Mysterio). The temporary game mode, Slam Deathmatch, was launched as a cross promo with WWE SummerSlam, which aired on August 3. This unique mode has added a fresh and exciting twist to the traditional Team Deathmatch gameplay.

In Slam Deathmatch, players down enemies instead of outright killing them, similar to Warzone mechanics. Grenades are disabled, and when you down a player, a WWE logo appears over their head, allowing you to perform wrestling-themed finishing moves on them. These moves include using a folding chair on someone’s neck or executing Cody Rhodes’ famous Cross Rhodes finisher. The chaotic matches are filled with players flipping and slamming each other while bullets fly everywhere.

Playing as the Farah operator skin, portrayed by The Boys actor Claudia Domit, I found myself laughing in disbelief the first time I successfully pulled off a finishing move. The voice comms were filled with players laughing and groaning, creating an atmosphere similar to a major wrestling event. The satisfaction of performing a Rhea Ripley finisher while using the corresponding skin cannot be understated.

Slam Deathmatch serves as a reminder that Call of Duty can be incredibly fun and engaging. If you haven’t tried this mode yet, today is your last chance to experience the adrenaline-pumping action. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to participate in this unique and entertaining game mode before it disappears.

Overall, the addition of Slam Deathmatch and WWE-themed content has revitalized the MW3 experience for many players, offering a refreshing change of pace from the traditional gameplay. The collaboration with WWE has brought in a new audience of wrestling fans, further expanding the reach of the game. As the gaming landscape continues to evolve, it’s exciting to see developers incorporate innovative and engaging features to keep players invested and entertained.
