Nintendo fans are feeling nostalgic for the ‘Nintendo Music’ feature in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. The Nintendo Music app allows users to listen to official Nintendo music, which may not seem like a big deal, but after years of anticipation, it is a welcome addition.

The ‘Sounds’ section in Smash Ultimate, introduced during the 2018 Direct, offers a library of over 800 tracks arranged by series, allowing players to create playlists and listen to them on the go with the Switch screen off. This feature, described by Sakurai as using the Switch as a music player, was a cool addition to the game.

While the Smash Ultimate music player may have been forgettable for some, the introduction of Nintendo Music has brought attention to its convenience. Although few may have used the feature as a music player replacement, it was still a neat addition to the game.

Some fans may start curating playlists in Smash Ultimate and take their Switch on a jog while waiting for more tracks to be added to Nintendo Music. This feature showcases Sakurai’s forward-thinking approach to game development.
