I wear my robe and wizard hat.

Christian Dailey, executive director of Dragon Age 4, has shared another bit of concept artwork for the forthcoming RPG. Last time BioWare showed us some concept art it had been an archer using a magical bow, this time it’s a mage using a pointy staff. You can tell she is a suitable Dragon Age mage because of this goofy hat, although this cross between a naval tricorn and a timeless Gandalf point actually looks pretty slick. The scroll cases holstered on her belt for easy accessibility look like a sensible addition for your combat-ready mage about town as well. And that is enough about wizard style.

Creative director Matthew Goldman retweeted the film using the words,”Meet me in Minrathous!” Minrathous is the largest city in the Dragon Age setting and also the funds of Tevinter, its most magical nation, or so the gaslamp fantasy vibe of the rain-soaked red-light alley seems suitable. If it carries over into the game it’ll be a wonderful change of pace from Dragon Age’s occasionally trad dream look. Or maybe it’s just red because of all the red lyrium, who can say?

Anyhow, that’s about all that I could glean from reading to this one piece of concept art from a game that’s probably well over a year away at this stage (EA’s chief financial officer Blake Jorgensen proposed Dragon Age 4″likely comes following monetary [2022]” in an earnings return in 2019). On the plus side it is reportedly going to be a completely singleplayer RPG, with no live-service features. Here is everything we know about Dragon Age 4 right now.
