A 17-year-old Palestinian teenager, identified as Amjad al Afayed, HAS DIED by Israeli fire during an Army raid in the Jenin area of ​​the occupied West Bank, the Palestinian Ministry of Health confirmed.

The death occurred in armed clashes between Israeli troops and Palestinian militiamen, clashes that have been common in recent weeks when the Israeli authorities have intensified “anti-terrorist operations” throughout the West Bank, and in particular in Jenin.

Another 18-year-old Palestinian youth was also seriously injured, according to the Palestinian Ministry.

The Israeli Army clarified after the death that they opened fire in response to attacks with Molotov cocktails, explosives and shots by armed Palestinians during the operation.

“During an Army operation last night near Kafr Dan, several suspects threw Molotov cocktails, explosives and fired from a vehicle at our forces. The troops fired on the suspects and one hit was detected. There are no Israeli casualties,” they said in a statement. .

The Jenin area is one of the hot spots during the current wave of violence in the area, since several of the attackers of the six attacks that Israel has suffered since the end of March, committed by Palestinians or Arab-Israelis and which left 18 dead.

The Army has intensified its raids in the Jenin area since the “Break the Wave” operation began on March 31, with more than 400 detainees and dozens of Palestinians killed in clashes, although some were unarmed civilians such as journalist Shireen Abu Akleh , who was hit by a bullet ten days ago while covering one of those operations.
