Star Trek: Resurgence on Nintendo Switch (Handheld/Undocked)
So, like, Star Trek: Resurgence is basically like watching an episode of the TV show but in video game form, which is pretty cool, right? Instead of all the usual phaser battles and starship stuff you see in Starfleet combat sims, this game from Dramatic Labs brings out all the deep stuff like moral dilemmas, family drama, and the vastness of space. And of course, there’s still all the classic “Shields up, red alert!” and pew-pew phaser action you’d expect from a good ol’ ’90s Trek episode.
Originally dropping in 2023 on PC and other consoles before making its way to the Switch, this game follows two main characters, Jara Rydek and Carter Diaz, as they navigate life aboard the USS Resolute. You get to experience different perspectives and roles on the ship, from engineering tasks to political intrigue, until their stories eventually collide in an epic way.
The gameplay is more like an interactive novel, where you don’t have full control of your character but get to make choices that affect the story. You’ll solve puzzles, engage in dialogue, and feel like a true Starfleet officer, all while soaking in the nostalgia of classic Trek vibes. Plus, the graphics hold up surprisingly well on the Switch, even if there are some rough edges here and there. Not gonna lie, it’s a pretty solid episode that any Trek fan would enjoy.
