The MEP and head of the Citizens delegation in the European Parliament, Luis Garicano, has decided to resign from his parliamentary act to take up a teaching position at Columbia University (New York).

The ‘orange’ formation has congratulated Garicano in a statement for this professional achievement that they see as “further evidence that the Spanish liberal project is made up of talented people and a valuable, recognized and exemplary career outside of politics.”

In this sense, they have thanked him for his “commendable” work throughout these years in the party and in the European Parliament, “where he leaves a great mark.”

“It will be an honor to continue counting on your support and collaboration, already as a member of civil society affiliated with this party and belonging to this political space that has enriched so much and where you will always have your home,” they assured.

Lastly, they reiterated their pride in having Garicano at the core of their training and wished him “all the best” in this new stage that he is beginning as a teacher.
