Marvel Cosmic Invasion may not have a release date just yet, but who cares when you can already get your hands on a demo? The game, which is being hailed as one of the coolest-looking Marvel games in recent years, has a demo available on Steam for all you eager beavers out there. You can either play solo or team up with a couple of buddies to take on the superhero brawler action. Released on October 1 by Tribute Games and Dotemu, this free demo gives you a taste of what’s to come in Marvel Cosmic Invasion.
The demo includes two full levels complete with boss fights and supports both local and online co-op modes. You’ll get to choose from a lineup of nine awesome characters, including Rocket Raccoon, Nova, Phyla-Vell, She-Hulk, Venom, Spider-Man, Wolverine, Storm, and Captain America. And if that’s not enough to get you pumped, there’s even a new trailer showcasing the demo in all its glory.
So, if you’re itching to get a sneak peek at what Marvel Cosmic Invasion has to offer, head on over to Steam and give the demo a whirl. Who knows, you might just find yourself hooked on the epic retro-inspired beat ’em up action that Tribute Games is serving up.
Now, I’m not really sure why this matters, but Marvel Cosmic Invasion was actually announced earlier this year during a Nintendo Direct presentation. The game is a side-scrolling 2D beat ’em up that pays homage to retro classics, much like Tribute Games’ previous hit, TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge. As someone who played the demo on Steam, I can confirm that it’s a fast-paced, action-packed throwback that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Swapping between characters like She-Hulk and Spider-Man adds an extra layer of excitement to the gameplay, allowing you to switch between agile moves and heavy-hitting attacks. Sure, there were a few performance dips here and there, but hey, that’s all part of the fun, right?
While the demo features nine characters, the full game will boast a whopping lineup of 15 playable heroes. So far, we know 12 of the 15 characters that will be available at launch, leaving three mysterious slots yet to be revealed. Now, here’s the kicker for all you console players out there: the demo is currently only available on Steam, leaving Xbox, PlayStation, and Switch users out in the cold. Understandably, this has sparked some frustration among players eagerly awaiting the game’s release. But fret not, Marvel Cosmic Invasion is slated to hit the shelves in 2025. No exact release date has been announced yet, but with the year winding down, it’s safe to say that the game will be hitting consoles and PC sooner rather than later. So keep your eyes peeled for more updates on when you can finally get your hands on this epic Marvel adventure.
