So, picture this: I’m all settled in my seat on a flight to Greece, feeling pretty smug because I’ve got my Switch 2 ready to go with Silksong for the next four hours. But then, disaster strikes – my headphones are dead. Oh, the horror!
Not wanting to face the safety information booklet for the umpteenth time, I make the bold decision to play the game without sound. I mean, how bad could it really be, right? Turns out, it was pretty bad. Like, end-of-the-world bad. This was on September 5th, just a day after getting my hands on Silksong, a game I’ve been dying to play. Despite my fear of flying, I soldier on and dive into the game sans headphones.
Surprisingly, playing without sound opened up a whole new world for me. I started to notice the subtle rumble of HD Rumble 2 in my Joy-Con, guiding me through Pharloom in ways I never expected. From feeling raindrops to anticipating enemy attacks, the rumble became my lifeline in a soundless world. Even though I missed out on the game’s incredible sound effects and music, the tactile experience added a new layer of immersion that I never knew I needed. So, next time you’re playing Silksong, try turning off the sound and let the rumble guide your way. Trust me, it’s an experience you won’t want to miss.
