The Switch 2 game Drag x Drive has recently gotten a fresh update, taking it to Version 1.1.0. This title received some criticism for lacking modes and features, but this latest update seems to have addressed those concerns. Now, players can enjoy local wireless games with up to 8 players, along with improvements to the game’s ‘Online’ mode and various fixes.

General Updates

The game now allows for local wireless play by selecting the Local wireless park from the Mode tab of the X Menu. Players can also view their play history by selecting Stats from the Help tab of the X Menu. Additionally, player levels are now displayed in the upper right corner of the screen, increasing as players gain XP. This feature is not used in matchmaking for public parks. Players can now choose between Set as Blue or Blue/Red for their Team Color by adjusting settings in the Display Options.

Online

In the online mode, players can join a waitlist when a public park or friend park is full. By selecting a friend whose park is full, players will automatically attempt to connect when a spot opens up. Other adjustments have been made to increase 3-on-3 games in public parks and change the start position for 2-on-2 games. The game now displays the score when using the spectator camera. Online bots will now pass to players when they raise their hands or use the “Hey” reaction.

Fixed Issues

Several issues have been resolved in this update, including problems with player records, game crashes, and shot success rates. The game now accurately calculates shot success rates based on the last point of contact with the ground, rather than the position where the shot was made immediately before landing. This fix aims to balance gameplay and prevent certain shot types from becoming overly advantageous.

Overall, Drag x Drive continues to be a well-made sports game that may require some time to master its controls and mechanics. Despite its initial hurdles, dedicated fans are likely to find a rewarding experience in this unique title on the Switch 2 console.
