Around half of Spain is under warning this Saturday due to high temperatures, rains, storms, strong gusts of wind or bad seas, adverse phenomena that will be distributed in 25 provinces distributed in eight autonomous communities as a prelude to the first heat wave of the year, which It will start this Sunday and will last until at least next Wednesday.

The prediction of the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet), indicates that areas of 14 provinces are warned by suffocating heat. There is an orange warning -significant risk for outdoor activities- for 40 degrees in Badajoz (Vegas del Guadiana), Córdoba and Seville (Campiña), Huelva (El Andévalo and El Condado) and Jaén (Valley of the Guadalquivir).

The yellow warning -risk- due to intense heat affects the rest of Badajoz (39 degrees), Córdoba (38), Huelva (from 38 to 39) and Jaén (38), as well as in areas of Seville (38 in the Sierra Norte), Albacete (36 in La Mancha), Cáceres (from 37 to 39), Ciudad Real (38), Madrid (36 in the entire province except the mountains) and Toledo (from 36 to 39, except La Mancha).

Extreme heat also affects four provinces in the northeast of the peninsula, specifically Huesca (36 in the south), Lleida (36 in the depression and 34 in the Pyrenees), Teruel (36 in Bajo Aragón) and Zaragoza (37 on the banks of the Ebro and 36 in Cinco Villas).

On the other hand, Meteorology has activated the yellow warning for storms and heavy rains of at least 15 liters per square meter from 3:00 p.m. in 10 provinces: Ávila and Salamanca (except the south), Burgos, La Rioja, León, Palencia , Segovia, Soria, Valladolid and Zamora. In addition, Cádiz has an orange warning for rough seas and yellow for gusts of 70 to 80 km/h.

The most significant thing this Saturday will be the high temperatures in the southern half and the northeast of the peninsula, the strong storms in the north of Castilla y León, and the strong wind in the Strait and the west coast of Galicia.

The sun will shine in most of the country, with a few exceptions. Thus, there will be clouds in the north of Galicia and in the Cantabrian area, with probable rains or weak drizzles in the north of the Galician region and the west of Asturias.

Starting at noon, cloudiness of evolution will form that will affect a large part of the interior of the peninsula, with probable showers and storms in the surroundings of the North Plateau, the Cantabrian Mountains, the Central System, the Iberian System and the Pyrenees. The Canary Islands will have clouds in the north of the islands and clear skies in the south.

Temperatures will drop somewhat in the Cantabrian area and Galicia, but will tend to rise in most of the rest of the peninsula and in the Balearic Islands. They will exceed 35 degrees in the interior of the southern half of the peninsula and probably also in the Ebro depression. It is likely that they will exceed 40 degrees in the Guadalquivir and in the Guadiana in Extremadura.

The hottest capitals will be Badajoz and Seville (42ºC), Córdoba (41) and Cáceres and Jaén (39). Instead, a milder environment is expected in Santander (21), Oviedo and San Sebastián (22), and A Coruña (23).

Finally, this Saturday there will be a strong easterly wind blowing or with strong intervals in the Strait and Alborán, and from the northeast on the Galician coast and points in the Canary Islands.
