Three people have been killed this Saturday in a traffic accident that occurred on the A-136, within the municipality of the Huesca town of Biescas, as confirmed by sources from the Government of Aragon and the Civil Guard.

In the incident, apparently due to a frontal collision, two people have been injured, one of them seriously, who has been evacuated by the 112 helicopter to Zaragoza.

The relief work has forced to cut a lane of the A-136, causing retentions in the area

At the moment the identity and origin of the victims are unknown and the circumstances of the incident are being investigated.

According to the aforementioned sources and eyewitnesses, cited by Heraldo.es, the accident occurred around 5:30 p.m. this Saturday at kilometer 6,700, at the height of the Búbal reservoir. Apparently, for unknown reasons, two passenger cars have collided head-on in a section with a curve.

Firefighters from the Provincial Fire Extinguishing and Rescue Service of the Huesca Provincial Council have traveled to the scene, as well as Civil Guard agents and health personnel.

The work to release the victims has been going on for quite some time due to the complexity of the work, which has caused traffic jams on the road, which is one of the main accesses to the Aragonese Pyrenees.

Likewise, the A-136 has had to be closed to traffic, although an alternative lane has already been opened later.

As a result of the crash, three people have died and two others have been injured.

Given the seriousness of the injuries that one of them presented, the 112 helicopter was mobilized to transfer her to the Miguel Servet Hospital in Zaragoza.

According to the statistics of the General Directorate of Traffic, with these three deceased, the roads of the province of Huesca have claimed the lives of 13 people this year, two more than in the same period last year and six more than in 2019; For 2020, no data was provided due to pandemic lockdowns.
