Dragon Age: The Veilguard is set to include nudity, a detail I discovered while visiting BioWare’s office in Edmonton, Canada. During my time there, I had the opportunity to customize a female character, known as Rook, and was surprised to see that the character creator allowed for topless customization, including adjusting chest size. Game director Corrine Busche hinted that nudity in the character creator would also be present in other aspects of the game, such as romantic scenes, much to the delight of BioWare fans who enjoy mature RPGs.

While I only observed topless nudity during the character customization process, BioWare remained cryptic when asked about the possibility of bottom nudity in the game, suggesting that players would need to discover that for themselves. This decision adds an element of intrigue to the game, especially considering the implications of nudity in romantic cutscenes, which have been a staple in previous BioWare games. In the past, nudity has been implied rather than explicitly shown, with strategic camera angles and scenery concealing sensitive areas. However, with the character creator in Veilguard allowing for more explicit customization, it seems likely that romantic scenes in the game will be more visually daring than ever before, especially given the game’s stunning visuals powered by EA’s Frostbite engine.

As much as I would like to delve further into the topic of nudity in the game, I must be cautious not to trigger any alarms on my work computer.
