At least 31 people were killed in a stampede in southern Nigeria on Saturday during a charity event at a church that was distributing food, police said.
The disaster occurred in the city of Port Harcourt, in the state of Ríos, reported the local police spokeswoman, Grace Iringe-Koko, who confirmed the balance of 31 dead.
