Vox has already made one of its most complicated decisions: how and who will replace Macarena Olona in the Congress of Deputies. The now candidate for the Junta de Andalucía held the position of general secretary and spokesperson in Congress.
Now, the party of Santiago Abascal has decided to separate both charges. And to occupy the general secretariat, he has decided to appoint the deputy José María Figaredo. And as spokesperson, Inés Cañizares, who will be the one who occupies the seat that Macarena Olona has just left.
Vox bets on two of its essential pieces of its parliamentary group in Congress, two young figures who are having a great political presence during the legislature and who, from Vox, consider that they have become pillars of parliamentary work. In addition, as explained by the formation of Santiago Abascal, both have great recognition among the members of the parliamentary group.
José María Figaredo is a Vox deputy for Asturias. A lawyer by profession, he has a degree in Law and Business Administration. At just 33 years old, he has become one of the party’s strongest promises. He is one of the most active Vox parliamentarians. His initiatives number in the thousands in this legislature. He has had very relevant clashes with the Government, fundamentally in the economic area. His confrontations with the Minister of Finance, María Jesús Montero, have been notorious in this legislature.
Figaredo is a member of the Permanent Council, member of the Committee on Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda, spokesperson for the Committee on Industry, Commerce and Tourism and deputy spokesperson for the Committee on Territorial Policy and Public Function. Born in Gijón in 1988, he is a lawyer and economist, graduated from the Universidad Pontificia de Comillas. He is specialized in litigation and arbitration.
Inés Cañizares is a deputy for Toledo. She graduated in Economic and Business Sciences from the University of Castilla la Mancha-Toledo (1993). Master of Specialization in Economic and Financial Accounting Auditing by the IADE (Autonomous University of Madrid, 1994). Auditor of Accounts, belonging to the ICJCE.
He has developed his professional activity from the beginning of his career, establishing his professional office as an economist. She has always been linked to the world of business consulting, in the tax and accounting fields, as well as auditing, as well as a civil-commercial mediator and bankruptcy administrator. She has been a member of the Governing Board of the College of Economists of Madrid-Toledo Section for 16 years.
He is a member of the Permanent Council and the Finance Committee, spokesperson of the Budget Committee, deputy spokesperson of the Committee on Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation, member of the Monitoring and Evaluation Committee of the Toledo Pact Agreements, deputy spokesperson of the Mixed Commission for Relations with the Court of Auditors, among other parliamentary representations.
Both Cañizares and Figaredo are considered among their own as two of the most forceful “whips” of Vox in Congress.
