A mother and her 15-year-old minor son have been seriously injured in Ceuta after being shot after a family dispute held at the home where they lived, being shot by a direct relative of the injured.
According to police sources, the event occurred yesterday afternoon in the area known as “Casas Nuevas” in the Príncipe Alfonso neighborhood, when the residents of the area themselves alerted the police that shots had been heard inside the one of the houses.
The agents went to the scene and found the woman and her son wounded by bullets inside the house, while the author of the shots had fled.
Both the mother and her son were evacuated from the emergency room to the University Hospital of Ceuta, the woman having a gunshot wound to the chest, while her son had also received a gunshot wound to part of the neck and face.
The shooting, according to the first indications, occurred due to a family dispute over the collection of an inheritance, being the author of the shots an uncle of the minor, who fled after shooting both.
Firstly, the author of the shots – whose whereabouts are unknown – shot the woman and later her son, who got into the middle of the fight to prevent him from shooting his mother again.
The woman was evacuated at 10:00 p.m. last night to the Puerta del Mar Hospital in Cádiz with a reserved prognosis, while the minor is admitted, in serious condition, to the ICU of the University Hospital of Ceuta.
The National Police has opened an investigation to arrest the author of the shots, who is fully identified, after the agents collected several shell casings last night inside the home where the event occurred.
Several witnesses to the events warned the police that the man quickly fled after having fired the shots.
