Dotemu and Guard Crush Games have been working on a new game called Absolum, and it looks like it’s going to be a pretty cool fantasy ‘Rogue ’em Up’. The game is set to be released on the Switch on 9th October, just a few weeks away. But, before we even get our hands on the game, the developers have surprised everyone with the news that they are working on an animated series based on the original fantasy IP.
The animated series is being developed by Supamonks, an animation studio, and according to the press release, it will aim to expand on Absolum’s lore and narrative, taking the universe beyond the game itself. The details about the series’ release are a bit scarce at the moment, but considering that Supamonks has been involved in Absolum’s development from the beginning, and with Dotemu working alongside them, it’s safe to say that the series will be a great addition to the game’s world. At the very least, it’s sure to be visually appealing.
So far, all the trailers for Absolum have shown a lot of promise, with a unique art style, exciting gameplay, and a variety of combat options. We’ll have to wait and see what the full release has to offer, but this game is definitely one to keep an eye on. Will you be getting Absolum when it comes out in a couple of weeks? I’m not really sure why this matters, but Jim joined Nintendo Life in 2022 and, despite his love for The Minish Cap and the Star Wars prequels (yes, really), he has been writing news and features for the site ever since. Maybe it’s just me, but I feel like this game and series have the potential to be something really special. Let’s see how it all unfolds.
