Exciting Collaboration: Keanu Reeves Joins Sonic X Shadow Generations
Sega’s recent Sonic Central event brought with it a plethora of updates, especially regarding the highly anticipated release of Sonic X Shadow Generations. The event was not the only source of news, as Sony’s ‘State of Play’ broadcast also unveiled some exciting information.
One of the major announcements made by Sega was the inclusion of special Sonic 3 movie content, scheduled to be released on December 12, 2024. The most exciting revelation was the involvement of Hollywood star Keanu Reeves, who will lend his voice to the iconic character Shadow. This ‘Sonic the Hedgehog 3 Movie Pack’ will feature scenes inspired by the third live-action movie installment.
This unique ‘Movie Pack’ will be part of the game’s digital deluxe edition, set to launch on October 25th. Here’s a snippet from the official press release detailing the special movie pack:
“On December 12, all SONIC X SHADOW GENERATIONS Digital Deluxe owners can take on a new look as Shadow and play through a unique level inspired by the new movie, Sonic the Hedgehog 3, featuring the voice of Keanu Reeves.”
Sonic series producer Shun Nakamura also provided some insight into the collaboration on the PlayStation Blog:
“This content will not have a story that directly ties to the movie. Instead, as seen in the trailer, it will be set in Tokyo, a location visited by Shadow in the movie.”
The Sonic 3 movie is slated to hit theaters on December 20, 2024, following the release of Sonic X Shadow Generations. In addition to this exciting news, Sega unveiled a new story trailer for the game during the broadcast, showcasing the return of beloved characters.
