In 2025, fans of the Tomb Raider series will be delighted to hear that three more Lara Croft games are receiving a remastered treatment. Building on the success of the Tomb Raider I-III Remastered collection released the previous year, the Tomb Raider IV-VI Remastered collection is set to hit the shelves in February 2025, priced at $30.

The collection includes three titles: Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation (1999), Tomb Raider: Chronicles (2000), and Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness (2003). These games, originally released for platforms such as the original PlayStation and PlayStation 2, will now be available on modern consoles such as PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

Players can expect a range of improvements in the remastered versions, including the ability to switch between classic and modern graphics seamlessly, the option of choosing between modern controls or the original tank-style movement, a Photo Mode with various poses, quality-of-life features like boss health bars, and the addition of trophies and achievements on relevant platforms.

Among the three titles receiving a remastered update, Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness stands out as a particularly intriguing case. Despite being praised for its story, the game faced criticism for its numerous bugs, poor controls, and challenging gameplay. Greg Kasavin, a designer and writer for GameSpot, described the gameplay as frustrating, difficult, and tedious.

With Crystal Dynamics taking over the reins from Core Design after the release of Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness, there is hope that the remastered version of the game will address previous issues and elevate it to a new level of gameplay experience. Fans will have the opportunity to see if the bugs have been resolved and the controls improved when the collection releases on February 14.

Overall, the release of the Tomb Raider IV-VI Remastered collection in 2025 is sure to excite both long-time fans of the series and newcomers alike. With updated visuals, new features, and enhancements to gameplay, players can look forward to rediscovering these classic Lara Croft adventures in a fresh and modern light.
