A man has died and four other people have been slightly injured in a shooting that occurred on Monday night in the 11th district of Paris, according to the Paris police headquarters, which also reports the arrest of a suspect. According to the Europe 1 channel, a “Kalashnikov-type” long gun has been found.
The events occurred around 9:30 p.m. on Popincourt street, “two individuals got out of a vehicle and shot two individuals sitting on the terrace of a bar,” the prefecture detailed to AFP. The main hypothesis of the investigation is a reckoning.
The second suspect is still at large and, according to investigators, is armed.
According to the mayor of the 11th district, François Vauglin, the shooting took place in a “shisha bar”. “The customers of the bar have reduced one of the two assailants,” adds the mayor in a tweet in which he denounces this “barbaric act.”
