On Thursday there was a shooting at a German school in the northern city of Bremerhaven, during which one person was injured, police said.
One person was taken into custody after the shooting while the wounded man was taken to hospital, they said.
“The armed person was arrested and is currently in police custody,” it added.
The injured man, who was taken to hospital, is not a student, the same source added, without giving further details about his identity.
Selon the Bild newspaper is about a woman who is seriously injured. This same newspaper reported that a second suspect had fled, armed with a crossbow, without the police confirming it.
The police have explained that the operation continues and have asked the population to avoid the area.
The shooting took place at Lloyd College, a secondary school in the town of Bremerhaven.
The Nord24 newspaper said that a student who had heard gunshots had called the police. Students barricaded themselves in their classrooms, she added.
School shootings are rare in Germany, one of the countries in Europe with the strictest gun laws.
In January, a student was killed and three others were injured in a shooting at a university in the southwestern part of the country.
