Square Enix has released streaming guidelines in Japan for the upcoming Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake. Players can share images and videos for “non-commercial” purposes but must include spoiler warnings for major plot details. The ending and post-ending gameplay cannot be shared until December 13, 2024. Players are also not allowed to create videos or playlists featuring only cutscenes or music without showing normal gameplay in between.
This is not the first time game companies have imposed such restrictions, with other companies like Atlus, Koei Tecmo, and Arc System Works doing the same for their game releases. Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake is a reimagining of the classic RPG originally released in 1988.
