Welcome back to another exciting edition of Box Art Brawl! Last week, we had a tough matchup between two covers from Capcom’s Gargoyle’s Quest II: The Demon Darkness. Japan’s action-packed design narrowly won with 53% of the vote, leaving Europe and North America’s cover with 47%. This week, we’re sticking with the spooky theme as we dive into the world of Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow.

Dawn of Sorrow, the first entry in the Castlevania series for the Nintendo DS, may have initially turned some players off with its anime-inspired art style and unique ‘Seal’ system on the touchscreen. However, those who stuck with it found a treasure trove of Castlevania goodness waiting for them.

In this week’s Box Art Brawl, the North American and Japanese covers are nearly identical, setting up a classic showdown with the European design. Let’s take a closer look at each one before you cast your vote in the poll.

The North American and Japanese cover features our protagonist, Soma Cruz, front and center, surrounded by various characters from the game. While this design may lack background details, it still manages to capture the essence of Castlevania with its spooky castle, full moon, and bats.

On the other hand, the European cover takes a more minimalist approach. By focusing solely on Soma Cruz and the eerie surroundings, this design stands out in its simplicity and elegance.

Now it’s your turn to vote for your favorite cover in the poll below. We appreciate your participation and look forward to seeing which design comes out on top. Stay tuned for the results and join us next time for another thrilling round of Box Art Brawl.
