Three months after Microsoft closed down Tango Gameworks, the developer behind Hi-Fi Rush, PUBG publisher Krafton has decided to revive the studio. Krafton has not only acquired the studio but also the rights to the Hi-Fi Rush IP. This means that the rhythm-based action game will continue to be developed under new management. This is great news because it ensures that the passion project will not fade away after just one successful game.

According to Krafton’s press release, they are working closely with Xbox and ZeniMax to ensure a smooth transition for Tango Gameworks. The studio will be able to continue developing the Hi-Fi RUSH IP and explore new projects under the new ownership. Additionally, Krafton has confirmed that Tango Gameworks’ previous games, such as the original Hi-Fi Rush, The Evil Within series, and Ghostwire: Tokyo, will still be available on digital platforms.

The closure of Tango Gameworks earlier this year was a shock to many, especially after the success of Hi-Fi Rush. It was one of the three studios that Microsoft shut down in May, leaving a stain on Xbox management’s reputation. However, the revival of Tango Gameworks and the continuation of the Hi-Fi Rush series bring hope for the future of the studio and the game.

While we don’t have details on what Tango Gameworks will develop next in the Hi-Fi Rush universe, it is reassuring to know that the studio’s future looks promising. Despite earlier rumors, Hi-Fi Rush never made its way to the Switch, but maybe a port is still a possibility in the future. If you haven’t played Hi-Fi Rush yet, now might be a good time to try it out or revisit it in light of this positive news.
