The Government maintains its purpose of redirecting the relationship with the Generalitat and with ERC, deteriorated as a result of the Pegasus case, the espionage of independence leaders. This Friday the Minister of the Presidency, Relations with Parliament and Democratic Memory, Félix Bolaños, and the Minister of the Presidency of the Generalitat of Catalonia, Laura Vilagrà, will hold another meeting, this time at the Palau de la Generalitat. As a background, the meeting that Pedro Sánchez and Pere Aragonès are expected to hold in La Moncloa in the second half of July in the presidential complex.

Government and Generalitat maintain their strategy of showing that the path of dialogue championed by Sánchez and Aragonès continues its course and that it is alive, in the face of criticism from the respective opposition parties. Both sides need it, but they also need facts. And hence, in La Moncloa, the forecast is that the long-awaited meeting between the President of the Government and the Government, called to be key in the redirection of relations, will take place in the coming weeks. Now the agendas seem to fit together once the Andalusian elections, the NATO summit or the debate on the State of the Nation are over.

Of course, the purpose of the Executive is to dress the interview with Aragonès in the framework of the round with different regional presidents, since Sánchez wants to meet in the coming weeks with the presidents of Castilla y León, Alfonso Fernández Mañueco, and Andalusia, Juanma Moreno , after having won the elections in these communities, and also with the Galician Alfonso Rueda, who has replaced Alberto Núñez Feijóo in the Xunta. It so happens that the three are leaders of the PP.

Bolaños and Vilagrà met for the last time on June 23 in La Moncloa. “Today’s meeting opens a horizon of institutional and political stability that looks to the future,” the Minister of the Presidency pointed out at the time. Friday’s meeting will be the third that has taken place between them since the scandal broke out over the Pegasus case and the relationship between the Government and the Generalitat was altered.
