Later today, Ubisoft is giving us our first glimpse at Far Cry 6’s gameplay in action. But it appears leakers have beaten it to the punch, as 6 minutes of footage in the open-world sandbox appeared on YouTube earlier this morning.

A largely unedited montage of skirmishes, the footage will look and sound like a genuine Far Cry entry. There is shooting, sneaking, gloomy, and exploding in a huge, stunning Cuban-esque entire world, with a brief peek at the full map at around 3:54.

We are introduced to some correctly absurd gadgets, from handheld miniguns and a back pack missile launcher into weaponised CD players who murder people with the Macarena. Animal companions are also back–and while it seems like you can nick horses from their owners, the actual celebrity seems to be a pet alligator (or crocodile?) That may be dressed in shirts and hats.

The footage is obviously lacking a lot of circumstance, mind. The audio mixing is off, and feels like it’s missing the commentary trail running us through the game’s new features. That context will probably arrive with tonight’s stream, which will ultimately confirm whether this leak is real or not.

The game is currently set to launch later this season, following the pandemic pushed the game from a intended February launch .
