Telefónica Spain will open this week a period for its employees to take advantage of the four-day shift (32 hours) after successfully completing the pilot program of 150 employees that began last fall.
The operator will give until July 15 to adopt this program, which will begin in September and will become one more work modality within the firm, as confirmed by market sources.
The impulse to this program has been given after verifying the satisfaction of the employees who have accepted the pilot of this day, by means of which they renounce a part of their salary equivalent to something more than four hours, compared to the five and a half hours that reduce the working day.
The firm will establish quarterly periods in which new employees may benefit from the program, the following in December, or opt out of it.
Telefónica is one of the first large Spanish companies to launch this type of program, whose promoters highlight its benefits for mental health, family reconciliation, as well as sustainability by reducing the number of trips.
