Attack helicopters returned yesterday’s patch after being removed in December, but didn’t even last 24 hours.
Attack helicopters were added to Call of Duty: Warzone at December 2020, but were immediately eliminated after players discovered they could be used to activate a harness which made them invisible: They could see, move, and take as normal, but could not be viewed by others. This wasn’t a lot of fun for the majority of gamers, as you can imagine, and Raven grounded the choppers before it may figure out what was going on.
It took over three months, but the buzzbirds eventually returned to action at yesterday’s Season Two Reloaded update. Unfortunately, it soon became apparent that Raven was being a small over-optimistic about getting fixed the issue, as gamers almost instantly started reporting the invisibility glitch was back, also.
It’s not clear whether this is exactly the same invisibility glitch as the one in December or even a new glitch with the exact same impact, but either way Raven eventually took notice and once again grounded the fleet. A time frame for their return hasn’t been declared yet; currently the Dark Ops Cold War/Warzone Trello says just that the problem remains under investigation.
I’ve achieved to Activision for more information on the condition of the glitch and a possible timeline for the recurrence of assault helicopters, and will update if I receive a reply.
