PP, Vox and Ciudadanos have criticized the Government for having forced the departure of the until now president of the National Institute of Statistics (INE), Juan Rodríguez Poo, because “he does not like the data” that he presented on GDP growth or inflation and they have accused Nadia Calviño of wanting to place another “Tezanos” to adapt those figures to their interests.
Besieged by these reproaches, and although at first she wanted to avoid this matter, the First Vice President and Minister of Economy has ended up replying that “so that there is no doubt”, she “has not pressured or dismissed any leader of any independent institution “.
In a control session decaffeinated by the absence of the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, and many of his ministers due to the NATO summit in Madrid and other commitments, the political weight of the session has fallen on Calviño, who has seen as in At the same time, the escalation of the inflation figure to 10.2% year-on-year was announced.
Although the criticism of the opposition went there first, PP, Vox and Ciudadanos have brought up the controversial resignation of the president of the INE due to alleged pressure from the Government.
