Jacques Bouthier, millionaire businessman and CEO of Assu 2000, a French insurer recently baptized Vilavi that has 1,800 employees and nearly 550,000 clients, has resigned from his duties after it was leaked that he has been arrested for the violation of, at least, two younger girls.
The businessman, who is 75 years old and has a fortune estimated at around 160 million euros -according to Challenges magazine- is one of the six people who are in prison after the opening of a judicial investigation that accuses them of trafficking and sexual assault against minors and the rape and prostitution of minors under 15 years of age.
It all started last March, when a 22-year-old woman went to a Paris police station to report that Bouthier had held her almost captive in an apartment from 2016-2017, that is, when she was still a minor, to have her at his disposal and have sex with her on a regular basis. In addition, she told the police, according to the BFMTV channel, that the businessman had recently asked her to look for a substitute for her because, at 22, she considered her “too old.”
In practice, although the young woman could leave and was not kidnapped, she was totally dependent on the businessman in economic and social terms. According to Il Corriere della Sera, Bouthier used to help minors with difficult family situations. She promised them room and board in exchange for having sex. A situation that his wife, who has also been arrested, was aware of.
The girl who went to the police had recorded images in which Bouthier appeared in bed with a 14-year-old girl, images whose existence the millionaire knew. For this reason, he had asked five people (now detained), including his wife, to pressure the young woman to leave France.
