CDPR says the current cyber attack on the studio would be to blame.
CD Projekt Red has delayed the release of Cyberpunk 2077’s forthcoming Patch 1.2.
The studio cited the hacking since the culprit, which saw source code for numerous games and sensitive business documents stolen, as well as the company’s servers being hit with an encryption attack. CDPR says:”the recent cyber attack on the studio’s IT infrastructure and broad scope of the upgrade mean this unfortunately won’t occur — we’ll require some extra time.”
The patch was initially scheduled for release this month, but CDPR says it”goes past some of our previous upgrades,” and that the scope of Patch 1.2 means it now will not arrive before the second half of March.
“It is not the information we enjoy sharing, but we want to make sure we launch this upgrade properly. Stay tuned for more information as the time draws closer. Thank you for your continued support and patience.”
The patch is part of a wider ongoing effort at repairing multiple flaws with the game, that has been a bit of a mess since it started back in November. Patch 1.1 dropped past month, which fixed a number of issues, with more stains, developments and free DLC being part of CDPR’s deadline for Cyberpunk.
