Dragon Age: The Veilguard is a game full of choices, especially when it comes to the fate of your companions. In the final mission of the game, protagonist Rook and their crew embark on a dangerous mission to stop the elven gods on Tearstone Island. As the team splits into two groups, players are faced with a crucial decision – who will lead the second team, Davrin or Harding?

The leader of the second team plays a pivotal role in the final battle against the elven god Ghilan’nain. While they manage to create an opening to deal a killing blow to the god, they ultimately sacrifice themselves in the process. This means that whichever character you choose to lead the team, whether it’s Davrin or Harding, will meet their demise by the end of the mission.

Unfortunately, there is no way to save Harding or Davrin, as their fates are mutually exclusive. Upon returning to the Lighthouse base, players can visit their respective rooms and find no trace of them, leaving the possibility for their return in future games. However, for the remainder of the game, players will lose either Harding or Davrin, and if they were romanced, they will not see the culmination of that relationship.

Additionally, there is another decision players must make between Bellara and Neve, which results in the chosen character getting captured by the elven gods. While players will have the opportunity to save them later in the game, they will not rejoin the active party. So, while there are tough choices and sacrifices to be made in The Veilguard, there is still hope for redemption and resolution in the game.
