The Escuela de Unidad Editorial (ESUE) and MARCA have signed a collaboration agreement with Telefónica Tech for its participation in the MARCA Master’s Degree in Sports Digitization, which will begin next year.

The agreement includes the incorporation of some of its specialists in the application of technology in sport as teachers, the delivery of sessions in the Innovation and Talent Hub of the Telefónica District, the transmission of their experiences in this area and the holding of joint events related to these themes. The MARCA Master in Digitalization of Sport, which will begin in October 2022 in person, is a new degree from the Escuela de Unidad Editorial that responds to the need for training in the transformation process that the world of sport is experiencing. The objective is to train future professionals and offer those who are already active updated content on the technology that is fully entering all disciplines to improve the performance of the athlete, the user experience of the spectator and the service offered by the clubs, sports facilities, as well as knowing what other variants of sport will grow, in the immediate future, hand in hand with science.

The approach fully coincides with the impetus that Telefónica is giving, through Telefónica Tech, to the application of technology in sport, which it has been supporting both professionally and as users and spectators for decades. In fact, at the last Mobile Word Congress, the telecommunications company presented in its Sports 4.0 demonstration all the possibilities that technologies such as 5G, the Internet of things, artificial intelligence, big data, blockchain or technology offer to the sports universe. Web3. Telefónica has already brought its revolution to disciplines such as football, cycling, badminton, basketball and athletics.

These objectives coincide with those of the MARCA Master in Digitalization of Sports, which aims to train recent graduates and professionals in the design and development of digital strategies for the launch of a team, service, brand or startups in the sports field, applying big data in this same field, identify the digital tools related to sport and teach how to use them and encourage the participation of fans in this process.

This new master’s degree is added to the programs that ESUE already teaches with the endorsement of MARCA, the leading media outlet for sports information in Spanish, such as the Master’s Degree in Sports Journalism, the Master’s Degree in Management and Communication of eSports, the course in Journalism specializing in international football or the MARCA Radio Workshops, among others.
