According to GoNintendo, the same scenario that occurred with Paper Mario pre-orders is now affecting Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD pre-orders. As a form of apology, Walmart is offering a $25 discount code for the next purchase over $45 to affected customers.
While some physical copies of Paper Mario did end up shipping to customers despite the pre-order cancellations, the reasons behind these cancellations remain unclear. Nintendo, at the time, was reportedly only offering physical copies of the games in-store.
