The Casa del Rey and the Court of Accounts have signed an agreement this Thursday by which the court will be responsible for carrying out an audit of the annual accounting of the institution headed by Felipe VI.
This was agreed this Thursday by the heads of both institutions after the audience granted this morning by the King to the members of the plenary session of the Court of Auditors at the Palacio de La Zarzuela.
The agreement aims to consolidate the reforms carried out in previous years and thus continue the modernization process started in 2014 at the request of Felipe VI.
The objective, as the royal house has underlined in a statement, is “to delve into the reinforcement of the principles of transparency, accountability and publicity, in line with the Crown’s commitment to society to observe integrity, honest and transparent.
The agreement was announced in the Council of Ministers on April 26, within the framework of the Royal Decree on the restructuring of the Casa del Rey.
Said royal decree established that the external audit of the annual accounts prepared by the House of His Majesty the King will be carried out by the Court of Auditors “in the terms and conditions” established in an agreement signed for this purpose.
