Microsoft has spent hours gathering resources and building fortifications. Now, Microsoft is mobilizing troops for Age of Empires4’s next stress testing. It invites everyone to join the fray and wage merry warfare until the game’s online infrastructure collapses (or, ideally, does not).
The next technical test for AoE4 will be held this Friday, following last month’s closed beta. The test can be downloaded directly from the Steam page and the Xbox Insider App, regardless of whether or not you are an Xbox Insider. Only one catch: you must meet or exceed the minimum specs . The game will automatically detect and assign graphics settings to your rig based on this .
The content of this week’s test is the same as last week, including a tutorial mission and AI skirmishes. However, since it is a stress test, developers strongly encourage players to play against real opponents online. This build has had some bug fixes and balance adjustments since the last one and will allow you to pull your camera out further than ever before.
The Age of Empires 4 stress testing starts at 10 a.m. PT/6 p.m. BST on Friday, September 17th. Full details are available over on the announcement post. Age of Empires 4 will finally launch on Steam, Windows Store, and Xbox Game Pass on 28 October.
