Another week has passed with a hint of official news about the anticipated ‘Switch 2′. Nintendo’s president, Shuntaro Furukawa, revealed that the upcoming Switch successor will have backward compatibility and the Nintendo Switch Online service will continue on the new system. While this news may not be groundbreaking, it does give fans something to look forward to.
In other news, Nintendo’s quarterly financial report was somewhat disappointing, leading to a lowered sales forecast. However, there were some highlights during the week. Stardew Valley’s highly anticipated 1.6 update finally arrived on the Switch, and there was a celebration for Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket reaching 30 million global downloads. Additionally, a stunning (albeit pricey) Castlevania LP collection caught the eye of fans.
A new Nintendo release, Mario & Luigi: Brothership, made its debut, and early reviews have been positive. Some other notable games that were discussed include Vampire Survivors’ ‘Ode to Castlevania’ DLC, STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl, and Broken Sword – Shadow of the Templars: Reforged.
As for the weekend gaming plans of the team, Jim Norman is diving into Brothership and enjoying the experience so far. Kate Gray is immersed in Dragon Age: The Veilguard, noting some clichéd lines in the game. Gonçalo Lopes reflects on an unfortunate incident of water damage to his game room but finds solace in the memories attached to his gaming collection. Craig Reid is eagerly anticipating playing Mario & Luigi: Brothership and getting lost in the world of Mario once again.
With these exciting gaming options in mind, it’s time to think about your own weekend gaming plans. What games are you looking forward to playing in the next couple of days? Let us know in the poll below!
