Publisher Clear River Games and developer City Connection have announced that the arcade shoot ’em up game, Under Defeat, will be released on the Nintendo Switch on December 5th. Originally released in arcades in 2005 by G.rev, this game puts players in the pilot seat of a heavily armored helicopter as they fight to defend a world engulfed in war. With a unique shot-tilting mechanic, players can take on enemies from all angles, adding a new level of strategy to the classic shoot ’em up gameplay.

The Switch release will include the original Arcade Mode for a nostalgic vertical scrolling experience, as well as a New Order Mode for a more modern take on the game. Additionally, there will be a ‘New Order Mode+’ with an enhanced soundtrack by renowned composer Shinji Hosoe, a two-player option, and all the DLC content that was previously exclusive to Japan. The game will also be available in a physical edition for those who prefer a boxed release.

For fans eagerly awaiting the physical edition, Clear River Games has promised to share more information in the coming weeks. So, keep an eye out for updates if you want to add the physical copy to your collection. Are you excited to take to the skies and blast through enemy forces in Under Defeat next month?
