This Saturday a rescue group found five bodies of the passengers who were aboard a helicopter that disappeared this Thursday morning in the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines. In total, seven people were on board the aircraft.

The mortal remains have been located on Mount Cusna. The first investigations indicate that the helicopter would have crashed in the Lama stream, at an altitude of 1,922 meters, two kilometers from the Segheria refuge. It is a particularly inaccessible area.

Members of the Air, Rescue and Carabinieri Army have moved to the accident site and this morning they found some remains that could be compatible with those of the plane. Specifically, they have located some remains of metal parts next to some burned trees. It was a hiker who raised the alarm after finding the remains.

The Lucca Prosecutor’s Office has assured the newspaper ‘Il Tirreno’ that it is studying the opening of an investigation file to determine the reason for the accident. Among the issues to be clarified is the reason why the helicopter’s emergency location transmitter failed, a kind of black box that automatically transmits a radio signal in the event of an impact that allows the aircraft to be located. Apparently, Turkish and Lebanese executives were traveling on the aircraft who were going to participate in a technology event that was taking place in the area.

It is the third day of searching in the Modena area for this helicopter owned by Avio Helicopters SRL that disappeared last Thursday in the middle of a storm. On board was the pilot, named Corrado Levorin (born in Padua), along with four Turkish and two Lebanese citizens who had departed from Capannori Tassignano airport and were heading to the Treviso area.

The radar systems located the aircraft for the last time in the territory of Modena, specifically in the municipality of Pievepelago. This is where the search is mainly concentrated.

As it has been known, one of the passengers sent a video of a few seconds by chat to his son. This is confirmed by the ‘Gazzetta di Modena’, which emphasizes that for the moment the recipient of the video has not commented on the matter due to the investigation. However, it has been leaked that the 20-second video shows how the helicopter flies over a storm. And it is that, at the time of the accident, the weather conditions in the area were adverse.
