Blizzard has introduced a new class to Diablo IV called the Spiritborn, and it’s unlike any other class in the game. Located in the new jungle region of Nahantu, the Spiritborn class is inspired by martial arts and features a unique backstory. Players who choose the Spiritborn class will have the opportunity to bond with four animal Spirit Guardians: the jaguar, eagle, gorilla, and centipede. Each Spirit Guardian represents different values and playstyles, providing a diverse range of options for players.
The Spirit Realm, where the Spirit Guardians reside, is a key element of the class. Players can call upon their chosen Spirit Guardian to embody specific values in combat, allowing for customization and strategic gameplay. The Spirit Hall menu tab enables players to further enhance their Spiritborn by equipping bonuses based on their selected Spirit Guardians. With a focus on agility and offense, the Spiritborn class offers a fast-paced combat experience that draws inspiration from various martial arts disciplines.
During my hands-on experience with the Spiritborn class, I found the gameplay to be thrilling and engaging. The ability to mix and match different Spirit Guardians to create hybrid playstyles or focus on a single animal companion adds depth to the class. The flashy abilities and ultimate attacks of the Spirit Guardians make combat visually stunning and enjoyable to watch. Whether you prefer a fire-based jaguar build or a tanky gorilla-centipede combination, the Spiritborn class offers plenty of opportunities for experimentation and customization.
Blizzard has designed weapons and armor sets specifically for the Spiritborn class, allowing players to tailor their appearance and playstyle to their liking. The class favors polearms, glaives, and quarterstaffs to complement its acrobatic combat style. Additionally, new Legendaries, Aspects, and Uniques are in the works to provide even more options for players to customize their Spiritborn characters.
What’s great about the Spiritborn class is that players won’t have to wait to experience it. The class will be available from the start of the base campaign for owners of the Vessel of Hatred expansion. This means that players can jump right into the action and battle against Lilith as this powerful new hero. I can’t wait to see more of what the Spiritborn class has to offer when Diablo IV: Vessel of Hatred launches on October 8th.
