The National Police has arrested a 52-year-old man in the Gran Canaria municipality of Telde, with a police record, who is accused of having sexually abused his daughter since she was 14 years old and of constantly threatening her so that she would not say anything to her family.
Last June, the Telde National Police processed the complaint of an 18-year-old girl who claimed to have been a victim of continuous sexual abuse by her father since she was 14 years old.
She told the agents that she had not previously denounced for fear of the constant threats received by her father, as reported on Wednesday by the Canary Islands Superior Police Headquarters in a statement.
For this reason, and after the manifestation of the injured party, a police investigation was initiated to clarify the facts.
After the identification and location of the alleged perpetrator, he was immediately arrested as the perpetrator of a crime of sexual abuse, being placed at the disposal of the judicial authority.
