Welcome back to another exciting edition of Box Art Brawl! Are you ready to compare and rank some cover art designs? Last time, we saw some fierce competition between different regional variants of Mega Man: Dr. Wily’s Revenge, with the colorful Japanese version emerging as the clear winner. This week, we’re shifting our focus to the N64 classic Turok 2: Seeds of Evil.

While Turok 2 may not have reached the same level of success as other first-person shooters on the console, it still offered players an exciting dino-hunting experience. Alongside the N64 release, an action-platformer of the same name was also launched for the Game Boy Color, expanding the game’s universe with an original story.

In this Box Art Brawl, we have Europe and North America presenting similar designs, setting the stage for a classic showdown with Japan. Let’s take a closer look at the box art designs for each region:

Europe / North America:
The European and North American designs for Turok 2 keep things simple and straightforward. The title takes center stage, with subtle hints like crosshairs and an eye in the ‘O’ offering a glimpse into the game’s theme. The background featuring dino skin adds to the overall aesthetic without overwhelming the viewer with too much detail.

Japan:
On the other hand, the Japanese cover, known as Violence Killer: Turok New Generation in the region, takes a slightly different approach. While still maintaining a minimalist style, the artwork leans more towards the dinosaur theme. The striking orange eye at the forefront, along with the reflection of the hunter in it, adds a unique and captivating element to the design.

Now it’s your turn to vote for your favorite cover art design in the poll below. Which version of Turok 2: Seeds of Evil do you think stands out the most?

Thank you for participating in this Box Art Brawl! Stay tuned for the next round where we’ll explore more captivating cover art designs.
