Remember the fan-made remake of Half-Life called Black Mesa? The developers behind that project are now working on a new game called Rogue Point. This game is a tactical co-op shooter with roguelite elements, meaning each playthrough will be unique and challenging.

Black Mesa was initially a free mod released in 2012, recreating most of Half-Life using the Source engine. The Crowbar Collective, a group of fan modders, worked on this project for years before releasing a paid version in 2015 with Valve’s approval. In 2020, the game was updated to include all the Xen levels and other improvements.

Now, the developers have revealed the first trailer for Rogue Point. The game’s story revolves around the death of the richest man in the world, leading to a corporate war among mercenaries and other companies. Players will take on the role of an elite tactical group dedicated to stopping the chaos caused by these dangerous conflicts.

Rogue Point is a cooperative four-player tactical shooter where players must plan and execute missions to complete runs. Each run is dynamically generated, offering a mix of hand-built assets and randomly selected elements for a fresh experience every time. The game will support solo players and offline play, allowing for flexibility in gameplay.

Developed using Unreal Engine 4, Rogue Point features a progression system where players unlock new skills and evolve their operator as they complete missions and progress through runs. The Crowbar Collective aims to involve the community in the game’s development and updates, similar to their approach with Black Mesa. With Team 17 as their partner, they are focused on creating a compelling experience based on player feedback.

While no specific release date has been announced for Rogue Point’s Early Access, players can wishlist the game on Steam to stay updated on its development. The Crowbar Collective is excited to share more about the game and their journey in creating a new IP, as well as transitioning into a full-time development studio. Stay tuned for more updates on Rogue Point and get ready to immerse yourself in this thrilling new adventure.
